Growth. What is it? Growth is not just the act of getting larger. Growth is also metaphysical. Growth is something that we all experience in our daily lives. In fact, all living things experience the act of growth. You could say: “It’s a fact of life.” There are three facts of life that I’ve found. These three things are ubiquitous for all forms of life. This post is about the first of those items.
Growth is also the core stage that the other two stages are dependent upon. As we grow we don’t just get physically larger and older, we also learn. It is that learning that allows us to move on to the other stages in life. That learning then encourages us to grow further and learn new things. Growth is one of the most important stages of life. If we stay in an infantile stage, either physically or mentally, for our entire lives, nothing would be accomplished. Without growth we cannot move on to the further stages. So while it is a small step, it is wholly necessary for life.
